Using Your Appliance
Your custom appliance is designed to reduce symptoms associated with diagnosed sleep apnea and may be used alone or with CPAP when directed. Use any provided morning aligner each day to help guide your bite back to its usual position.
- The appliance is not an athletic mouthguard and is not intended to treat jaw-joint disorders unless specifically planned by your dentist.
- Call if the appliance becomes loose, tight, broken, or uncomfortable, or if you notice bite changes.
- Tell the dental team about your appliance before future dental work.
Cleaning, Storage, and Follow-Up
- Brush, floss or water-floss, and rinse before inserting the appliance.
- Rinse it with cool water after removal; use a soft toothbrush and mild soap when needed.
- Keep it away from pets, heat, hot water, direct sunlight, toothpaste, mouthwash, denture cleaner, alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide.
- Bring the appliance, morning aligner, and adjustment tool to every dental appointment.
Call Us If
- The appliance is damaged, lost, loose, painfully tight, or no longer seats fully.
- Jaw pain, tooth pain, or a bite change persists.
- Sleep symptoms return or worsen despite wearing the appliance.
